Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act 85, 1993

According to the OHS Act, the Employer must, where reasonably practicable, provide and maintain a Safe, Healthy Work Environment that is without risk to Employees Section 8 OHS Act 85, 1993).

It is law that all Employees have to be Trained in Occupational Health and Safety according to Act 85 of 1993.

(2) Any employer who does or omits to do an act …

Shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding R100 000 or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years or to both such fine and such imprisonment.”
